EXPLORE THE GORILLAS AT VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

The Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, which borders the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is best recognized as a refuge for the area’s endangered mountain gorillas. To see these fascinating critters up close, tourists swarm to this location. The Virunga Mountains’ jungly slopes, where the park is located, are blanketed with volcanic ash.

Visitors may spend up to an hour at a time with these amazing monkeys during strictly controlled hikes across the area. While the gorillas are unquestionably the major attraction, tourists may also look forward to hiking along a network of picturesque trails, seeing the famed Dian Fossey’s burial and the Karisoke Research Center, and taking a lovely day walk to the crater lake on Mount Bisoke.
